Sponsor a Match for a Year and Change the Life of a Child Forever
For those who may not have the time to volunteer as mentors with Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City but who have the financial resources to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged children, our Adopt-A-Match Program is the perfect opportunity.
BBBS of NYC matches at-risk and underserved children with caring adults in professionally supervised mentor relationships that benefit the child in a multitude of ways. An independent study showed that the children in our mentoring programs enjoy significant benefits: 86% experience higher self-esteem; 75% became more responsible; 73% of the children in our programs stayed out of trouble with the law; and 69% improved their grades in school.
The average cost to establish and maintain the special relationship between each child and mentor is $2,000. You can witness first hand the power of mentoring by “adopting a match” with a tax-deductible donation of $2,000 for one year.
